DISCO’S PAPER DOLL PARADISE
I have a passion for fashion! One of my favorite things to do is visit the New York Metropolitan Museum of Arts’ Costume Institute’s online archive. I go browser window shopping and go bonkers over all of the beautiful garments it features. It is truly magical to be able to raid this treasure trove from all the way across the country in Santa Cruz, California. And it’s 100% free!
I think one of the most exciting things about making art is that you can use it as a way to make anything in the whole world that you want your own. This paper doll project was a way for me to try on these beautiful things and imagine what it would be like to own them. The paper doll herself is sort of a self portrait.
